USAID EDGE - survey for the study used by USAID to support SMEs

On behalf of our partner, we share the link of the Project of USAID Economic Development, Governance and Enterprise Growth Project (EDGE) implemented by International Development Group LLC (IDG), is a 3 to 5-year regional activity in Europe and Eurasia (E&E) that aims to create inclusive, sustainable economic growth and to support intra-regional and Euro-Atlantic integration. USAID EDGE as a regional project working in 11 countries, is uniquely positioned to examine the regional impact of economic disruptions resulting from COVID-19 in the region.

In light of this, ACT as part of USAID/ EDGE Project is carrying out a study among SMEs to identify the impact of the pandemic on small and medium enterprises and understand how SMEs are navigating the economic disruptions resulting from COVID -19 outbreak.

The Study will target firms operating in the EDGE priority value chains

(1) Fruits and vegetables

(2) tourism

(3) light manufacturing

(4) ICT and will cover the following countries:

- Western Balkans countries (Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, North Macedonia, and Montenegro),

- the Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan),

- and in Ukraine, Moldova,

Study results will be used by USAID and other Donors to identify the entry points for future intervention and support SMEs to recover from economic turmoil and improve their prospects.

To achieve above it is crucial to reach targeted SMEs in selected value chains and get robust data on study objectives.
